Job Responsibility: Head Coach of the Charlotte Eagles Men's Team
Dixon joins the Eagles from Mississippi Brilla FC of the PDL. Dixon was the head coach for Brilla’s PDL team and led their youth club, Mississippi Brilla Juniors, as the director of coaching. During his five years at Brilla his team had a record of 47-18-17 and captured three conference championships. In 2010 he was named a finalist for PDL Coach of the Year. As a player, Dixon was a goalkeeper for the Jackson Chargers of the PDL in 1998, and spent a season in Charlotte with the Eagles in 1997. He played his college soccer at Houghton College from 1993-97, playing in three NAIA National Championship Tournaments. A four-year starter, he was a two-time All-American, two-time All-Region selection, and a three-time All-Conference performer.
Dave is married to Kerri and they have two children, Emmelyn and Brode.
How & why did you become a MAI Missionary?
I played for the Eagles and went on a tour in the past. I felt called to something more in my coaching career. I wanted to be in an environment where I could both grow and make an impact on players.
