Name: Elizabeth Meyers
MAI Location: Charlotte
Job Responsibility: Urban Eagles
I grew up in Germany. When I was 11 my family moved to Maine which is where my grandparents reside. Then when I was a sophomore in high school we moved to Pinehurst, Nc. I have been playing soccer since I was 5 years old. I played all through middle school and high school and played club soccer as well. I have been going to UNC Charlotte for the last 4 years where I have been getting a degree in Business Management and doing YoungLife.
How & Why did you become a MAI Missionary?
Through the ministry YoungLife, I have been helping out with the women's high school soccer team at A.L. Brown high school and have fallen in love with the concept of sports ministry. I love soccer and I love the idea of using it as a bridge to share the gospel. I think that it's fun and easier to form a relationship on the soccer field. There's a commonality. I went to the Summit weekend with the Eagles which is where I got introduced to the Urban Eagles. I fell in love with the ministry. I am excited to grow and learn more about cross cultural and sports ministry, and explore this calling that God has made me so passionate about.
