CHARLOTTE EAGLES SOCCER CLUB
To best focus MAI’s strategic efforts and resources on transforming the lives of youth in Charlotte and around the world while continuing to contribute to the professional development of its coaches through various team environments within and outside the United States Soccer League (USL), MAI’s Charlotte Eagles in 2015 have moved from the USL’s Pro League to its Premier Development League (PDL). The top U23 men’s league in North America, the PDL is the destination league for college-aged players to continue their development toward the professional ranks with clubs from across North America not only competing for a championship each summer, but also providing the opportunity for top-level competition for the best players in the college ranks. The PDL has proven to be an important stepping-stone for top professionals now playing throughout the world
The PDL’s 65-team league is set to kick off its 26th season in early May. With 58 of the league’s alumni selected in the recent MLS SuperDraft, another summer of top-quality action will see teams from across North America compete for the PDL Championship in the first weekend of August. New teams announced for the 2015 PDL season include Burlingame Dragons FC, Calgary Foothills FC, the Charlotte Eagles, the Dayton Dutch Lions, the FC Miami City Champions, the Lehigh Valley United Sonic, New York, Palm Beach Suns F.C., and Toronto.
PDL clubs will again play 14-game schedules in 2015, seven home and seven away. The PDL features 65 teams in four geographic conferences and 10 divisions, as the Eastern and Western conferences feature three divisions while the Southern and Central conferences contain two divisions each. A total of 23 teams will advance to the postseason, with the league’s Conference Championship weekend set for July 24-26. Seven teams will advance from the Eastern and Western Conferences, while five teams will advance from the Central Conference, and four from the Southern Conference.

The Charlotte Eagles are a member of the USL Hall of Fame for their history of success on and off the field, and dedication to their community. The Eagles have made the playoffs 15 of the last 20 seasons, making 7 trips to the National Championship and winning two USL-PRO National Championships in 2000 and 2005. The team has also featured 2 MVP’s over the years in Jacob Coggins (2004,2005) and Dustin Swinehart (2008)
The Charlotte Lady Eagles, a women’s elite soccer team based in Charlotte, North Carolina. The Lady Eagles find it's rich history and foundation in 16 years of competition an dministry in the USL W-League. The 2016 season brings about a slight change in structure with the discontinuation of the W-League but the heartbeat of the team remains. This team is about training young women to use the platform of soccer to bring transformation to their teams and communities through living out and sharing the Gospel. In addition to top level soccer training; Lady Eagles players help run local soccer camps for kids during the summer and participate in overseas outreach trips serving in countries like: Australia, Colombia, Chile, Germany, Brazil, Russion, Thailand and Ethiopia.
The Lady Eagles strive to compete at the highest level possible on the field; while utilizing the unique environment a soccer team creates for players to deepen their understanding of the gospel of Jesus Christ while practically growing and living it out. Our mission and goal is for God to impact and train each player on our team to be equipped to serve God and love people wherever they head next.
